People tend to assume a lot, and that is an absolutely normal, human thing to do. But we can never know just how wrong our harmless assumptions can be… When it comes to mental illnesses, invisible illnesses, wrong assumptions can be awfully hurtful, and harmless comments cut the deepest at times.

I am not angry at the people who keep saying those things to me, because they really have no clue that I suffer from an eating disorder. But before you assume, take a moment to consider this - maybe you are wrong.

Maybe that person is not in fact as lucky as you think.

I felt this was important; despite the graphic showcase.

Bottom line: If you oppose raising the minimum wage you’re saying that some people don’t deserve to be able to feed and shelter themselves and you’re trash.

Yet I bet these feminists would have no problem with raising the minimum wage for women only, leaving men unable to feed or shelter themselves. Because feminists are trash.

My mother says that fanfiction doesn’t count as reading because “it isn’t nearly as good as the stuff that’s published. You’re not going to find something online that will win a Booker Prize.”
Please reblog if you count fan fiction as reading, or if the fanfiction you’ve read is equally as good as published novels. I want to see the figures.

so this is what i ended up with for the “make your audience angry” assignment
i dont know about ya’ll but that phrase pisses me right the hell off

Side tip: if anyone ever grabs your hair like the above, clamp one hand HARD down on your scalp where the hair is coming out (think of how you try to immobilize your hair when brushing tangles out so it doesn’t hurt as bad, only do so at the scalp and not further down the hair). Then use your other hand to start hitting the other person (go for the face!) and blocking any blows they may try to make with their free hand. You can also step into them (which removes the tension on your hair) and start throwing your knees into their groin, stomach, kick the side of their knee, etc.
The reason hair-pulling works is A) it HURTS and B) it’s an effective handle, especially because your instinct is going to be to pull away. But reduce the pain and the tension on the hair and you have more room to work with until the other person lets go, at which point you can run like hell or otherwise defend yourself as needed.

he was my boyfriend in the 1960’s. im immortal

that´s marlon brando

And this is Brando.

And this.

And this.

It depresses me that people didn’t know who this was.

Fun fact:  this is the same guy who got pretty pissed at one of his directors and retaliated by refusing to ever wear pants on set, so the director had to work around only filming him from the waist up.

He was also active during the civil rights movement, to the point where he was even at the March on Washington

(That’s him with activist/author James Baldwin)
He sent a native american woman in his place at the oscars to accept his award because he was angry about the treatment of native americans in this country and in the industry.
Oh and he was also allegedly bi sexual

there’s no alleged…he was bisexual. James B also wanted the D.

SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT

So if a teenager is at school for roughly 8 hours, and they are doing homework for 6+ hours, and they need AT LEAST 9 HOURS OF SLEEP FOR THEIR DEVELOPING BRAINS, then they may have 0-1 hours for other activities like eating, bathing, exercise, socializing (which is actually incredibly important for emotional, mental, and physical health, as well as the development of skills vital to their future career and having healthy romantic relationships among other things), religious activities, hobbies, extra curriculars, medical care of any kind, chores (also a skill/habit development thing and required by many parents), relaxation, and family time?  Not to mention that your parents may or may not pressure you to get a job, or you might need to get one for economic reasons.

I will never not reblog this

"…but teenagers have no reason to be stressed."

White high school dropouts are wealthier than black or Latino college graduates

When it comes to building wealth, whites have a vast advantage over their black and Hispanic peers. Writing at Demos, Matt Bruenig dug into the Federal Reserve’s latest Survey on Consumer Finances and found a huge wealth gap by race and ethnicity.
In fact, whites are so advantaged that the median wealth among white families headed by someone with less than a high school diploma ($51,300) is larger than that for black families headed by someone with a college degree ($25,900) and Hispanic families with a college degree ($41,000).
White non-Hispanics also fared better than their minority counterparts between 2010 and 2013. According to the Fed’s 2013 survey, the median net worth for white non-Hispanic families held steady, growing by only 2 percent, while the median net worth for non-white or hispanic families fell by 17 percent.
